God is excited about the small beginnings.

Zechariah 4:10 NLT⁠

Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin, to see the plumb line in Zerubbabel’s hand.”⁠

Many of us are discouraged by our small beginnings and usually end up giving up, and for good reason actually; We’ve been going to the gym but for some reason, the belly just gets bigger. We’ve been saving towards the debt but the interest cancels out our efforts. We’ve been reading our bible diligently for two weeks but today we cursed someone in traffic. We’ve been learning to code but somehow things are just not working. You’ve been consistently sending her ‘Good morning’ texts but there is no fruit. Our ministry consistently has two people every week, your spouse and you.

During these trying times, we tend to get discouraged and go back to our ways of life, we shall try again tomorrow, or next year we tell ourselves, and this cycle repeats itself for fifteen years.

But God is excited about the small beginnings. He’s cheering you on. He’s jumping, He’s hooting, He’s blowing trumpets, He’s hooloolating, He’s made T-Shirts with your face, He’s posting about it on social media, He’s telling his friends about it.

But I only made 5 push-ups. Yes, God is excited about that.

But I only wrote one page. Yes, God is practicing the shoki dance in preparation for the book launch.

But I only sent one encouraging text. Yes, God can not contain himself.

But I only wrote one line of code. Yes, God is already planning your millionaire-dollar start-up.

But I only evangelized to one person. Yes. there is an actual party in heaven.

But I only read one verse today. Yes, God is calling you ‘Man of God.’

But I only sent one ‘Good morning text.’ Yes God is hearing wedding bells.

But I’ve only saved 4,000 shillings ($1) towards debt cancellation. Yes, God is jumping and rooting for the debt-free version of you.

Don't despise the small beginnings, because, with God on your side, they’re big beginnings.
